About LaudonTech
Laudontech is actually Mark Laudon. Mark Laudon is a Certified GIS Professional with over 15 years of experience in GIS. Tired of coloring maps for forestry purposes, Mark decided to investigate ways to make maps using a computer. The natural choice for making maps at the time was Microstation. Microstation provided an excellent platform for editing/producing map products in a rapid manner. However, Mark soon realized that now that the paper maps were digital, the potential to ask questions of the data appeared. Hence, Mark’s embarkment into the world of Microstation Geographics>Terrasoft>ArcINFO Workstation>FME>ArcSDE>ArcINFO Desktop>ArcIMS>ArcGIS Server…began, and continues today. Mark spent ten years as a GIS Product Manager for a forestry GIS company. Mark has now bailed on the ailing forest industry to investigate the world of municipal GIS. Mark also enjoys exploiting (mashing up) mainstream online mapping systems in order to add value to these systems. Check out laudontech.com for more information.
